Cookies from Cake Mixes?

Sun oven baking in Arizona my favorite way to save electricity . It will heat to 350 degrees. Just like your regular oven. Well I made this angel food cake which turned out beautiful and rose so high it hit the glass on the oven ./It was from a cake mix. Also I cook casseroles in it . Our thanksgiving turkey turned out well done , I cooked it 6 hrs. and it was falling off the bones. Cookies are slower because it can only fit 6 in it at a time. Takes 20 minutes for them.

Jeanne made us all christmas aprons to wear. Her daughters and grand daughter are in the above photo. We each made 2 dozen cookies. What fun we had . Her invitation was a medium rolling pin with a annoucement of the party. On the rolling pin it had cookie exchange.

Cookie Exchange Tempe. Arizona November 22, 2008 Ellen D. & Jeanne Williams We made 12 dozen fancy cookies for Xmas. They were made from cake mixes. We made reindeer cookies, using pretzels for the antlers , add m&m eyes and red m&m nose, and star burst cookies using round cookies with white icing, color gel in circles and pull a toothpick though the gel colors to make the star burst. They were very colorful. Also angels were fun to make with the same cake mix dough. They had pretzel wings which we put white icing on, yellow icing hair and white halos.Blue dots for eyes and and a red dot for the mouth. We also made snicker cookies by chopping up snicker bars into the cake mix and rolling into balls. Another kind was chocolate kiss tarts. using a tart pan and putting chocolate kiss into it. Peanut butter cup tarts were good too. Christmas wreaths were fun to make using mini m&m's to decorate them .We did Swedish thumb print cookies. Another was round circles which we sprinkles colored green and red sugar on.There was not any butter or margarine or crisco in these cookies. Recipe was

1/3 cup vegetable oil , 1 egg and 2 tbsp. water, in one yellow cake mix or chocolate cake mix roll dough out to make wreaths, angels , circle cookies, reindeer heads, and roll other into small balls . There were seven of us and we had a great party. We had to pick a number from 1-50 .I picked number 10. and won the hostess prize of a tin shaped like a stocking full of fudge that Jeanne had made from this recipe, no cook fudge. 1 can of chocolate frosting , add 1 package of melted semi sweet chocolate chips {Melt in the microwave}and stir together. The refridgerate to set.We each took home a big tray of a variety of all the cookies. Top photo Bev, Jeanne, Ellen finished all the cookies. They were a bit dried out time I ate later. Next time I will use my sugar cookie dough or your favorite gingerbread recipe to make the angels and reindeer.
