Christmas Day in Canada 2008
Christmas day we started opening gifts about 830 am. The rule was, before you opened your gift you had to say something, you were thankful for.Deah wrote personal love poems for all her family. She read them while the tears flowed from all of us.We felt so much love there that day.She wrote them during her lunch hour, while going to school. Cody and Kaylee enjoyed all their new clothes, while DaNae loved her ski's , ski boots and Roller blades.Rob and Dee got a new TV for Christmas. And Deanne received lots of new clothes too. After opening gifts,DaNae tried out the new citrus juicer, to squeeze the oranges we brought from Arizona. That was fun to do.Then we left for The Lawlors to open more family gifts. All Deanne's family were there. We enjoyed a wonderful turkey dinner, then played card games, while the teens played WII tennis and baseball.

Christmas Eve in the North
We are Going to the North Pole
We travelled from Arizona headed North to Magrath, Alberta, Canada. The roads were clear of snow, we were very blessed to leave before the snow storms arrived. After we drove through Los Vegus ,Nevada,USA. They received 6 inches of snow. The storm then headed to Salt Lake City. We visited our Ward Missionaries the Rays at Cove Ft. Utah, we enjoyed a lovely dinner with them.Spent the night in a hotel near Temple Square, we did't see the Temple Lights. We arrived ten minutes too late, they turned the lights off at 9 pm. Drove through Idaho,no snow.In Montana we saw a big brown horse, he was wearing a nice green coat to keep him warm. Then we arrived in Canada at 9pm. AT the Canadian Border there was snowy roads. Then drove into Magrath. We arrived at 9 pm. We were very grateful for your prayers for our long trip. When we arrived it was very cold -32, with wind chill -40.I guess this the NORTH POLE. We dressed like Eskimos to keep the chill out.

Gingerbread Houses
Our usual Christmas tradition having the grand kids over to make Gingerbread Houses. They had lots of fun creating their own Gingerbread house, then we decorated little gingerbread men, and decorated their own yummy chocolate suckers. They made snowmen, and Christmas tree suckers. They ate them as fast, as they made them. Then they decided to get the shovels out of the garage and dig a big hole in our back yard dirt pile, they don't have any dirt in their back yard, and you know how boys love to play in the dirt. They dug a big hole and buried their treasure in it.They plan to dig it up the next visit. Then they had ice cream treats which they enjoyed while swinging in the swing. I also made my cookies for my friends and neighbors, maybe as many as 10 dozen. Then I taught Dawson to play a Christmas song on the piano. A big day to remember.
